It was to my understanding that you couldn't use the Lockbar pinions with NM Aperatures and bases...

Apparently you can! :D (I think they look cool.)

That being said, can someone tell me about the lockbar wheel? Like, what did it do? What purpose did it serve? Pro's and Con's as compared to the M14 pinions?

Thanks!

I would do a search on this site, Bill R really pointed me to a great thread about this subject. With the info learned I traded a guy on this site the lock-bar sight I got on my 1994 M1A for his correct M14 sight plus $20, just a thought for you. :D

M-1 vs M14 sights...

Thanks much gents. I have a very tight but ugly looking M-1 sight. I'm going to send it out to have it cleaned up and reparked and put it on my M14sa (Fed Ord)...the current sight just does not want to stay put. I went through the tightening procedures outlined in the TM, but it still loosens up on me at th range.
Thanks again for all the input..and I agree, the lock-bar type sight looks good hangin' out there!

did you try tightening the windage side also? Mine was 'walking down' once before and I tightened the heck out of left side, but didn't know about the right side. Tighten however many 'clicks' it takes until it doesn't move, then back off one and that should do it.
If you've already tried this, then disregard my post  .

I agree with you though, the lockbar just looks better.....

LVMPDawg..

Tried that too and it still shakes itself loose after 10-15 rounds. I'm going to try to swap out one of these M-1 sights and see what happens...

By the way, Vegas is my old stompin' grounds. I grew up there and left at 17 when I joined the Marines. Was home last summer and I'm just amazed at how much that place changes every couple of years...
