Going through stuff I need to get rid of, and I found a box with a bunch of M1 slings in it. Over the years, I collected a lot of CMP rifles, and the slings probably came with them. Most of them are worn an are a khaki color but they do have some interesting markings on them like the one has a crown on it another some numbers. Some have magic marker and paint on them. Most are pretty worn. My question is do people collect these or would they want to buy them or should I just pitch them in the dumpster?

Post up some pics. They do have some value. The one with the crown would be a Danish issued sling. The numbered ones could be WWII slings.....

Pics of the most interesting. I noticed the adjustable “keepers” are of different types, wonder why? All must go or wife fury results….

Those are in really decent shape! The flat buckle(verses the ribbed ones) are WWII slings. As I said, the crown stamp is for a Danish sling. Never seen the numbered one before. These should sell fast as a lot. Good luck!

Man, if your wife don't like a few slings in a shoe box under the bed what's she say about all your Motorcycles, 4 wheel drives, Fishing Boats in the backyard & all them Deer Heads Scattered about the house?

Ha we are downsizing. One generous member has now bought them so it all good now until I find more!

that was a nice lot of slings. Those "seatbelt" nylon slings were late M14 issue during Vietnam and are the best M1 slings ever made.

I agree. I only buy nylon seat belt types. There’s a site What a country, has NOS nylon M14 slings and used GI nylon M14 slings. Pretty cheap too. The used ones are fair condition IMO.
