Hey guys,,,I'm haveing trouble with my safety on my M1, first off it will engage weather the bolt is cocked or not cocked, even after you pull the trigger and drop the hammer you still can engage it !! 8O But worse yet with the rifle cocked ready to fire and the safety engaged,if you pull on the trigger repeatedly the trigger will creep forward and the hammer will drop,,,,, 8O which is NOT good! So what I'm asking is,what could it be,,just the safety, the sear or what ?? Any ideals or info would be helpfull. :) Thanks

M1 Safety

Sounds like a weak safety spring which should be replaced. Also inspect the safety's trigger block and tip for wear or breakage.
Thanks Tommo,,I will check it out,,maybe I'll just buy the stuff and replace it all, none of it really cost that much. I'll let ya know how it turns out! :)

Look to see if the tip is broken on the safety.
Will do Quag. I went to the range today and after shooting 7rds,the bolt didn't on the 8th rd,, :? so I popped the clip and last rd out put in a new clip and the hammer still didn't ,pulled the clip out racked the bolt and let it come forward on a empty chamber, pulled trigger the hammer dropped but sounded VERY weak,,so packed up and came home, will look further into it,,or maybe just send the whole trigger group to Warbird! Thanks for the tips,,, :)
