I have a M1 carbine the rear sight is grey, and the sun light just reflects off the grey. I'm trying to find the item that you spray on to smoke it. tried search, but when you do not know the proper name you get zero results
sure could use some info ,

Thanks

You can buy what is known as sight black, a spray on blackener to do away with reflection of the sights, both front and rear. Common use by match shooters or we old timers used a carbide lamp to blacken the sights. Candle smoke will blacken as well, but easy to rub off.

Check out Creedmore shooting sports web site and also may have at Champion's Choice and Champions Shooters Supply. You can Google these and would show up I am sure.
The aerosol can of the sight black is the quickest and simplest way to blacken the sights and one can lasts a long time.
