Does anyone know what types of lubricant originally came with the USGI buttstock oiler container for the USGI M-14? If anyone has any great recommendations for lubricants for the M1A/M14s (particularly the op. rod grease) that would be most helpfull.

Thanks! :p

Lubri-plate and Plastilube were also issued in the little grease pots that fit in the buttstocks of the M-1 and M-14.

I've been using this stuff from Permatex called SuperLube , a teflon-based synthetic water and heat proof grease. Ya can get it at any auto store or Radio Shack as Super Lube Gel. Been using it on my M-1 , M-1A and mini-14s for years with excellent results.
