It should work, but the determining factor is clearance of the eye piece over the rear sight. It's preferable to have the scope as low as possible. Many ring set ups will allow low mounting on a Sadlak base and maintain about 1/16" to 1/8" clearance with the rear sight adjusted all the way down. This helps minimize neck strain, but many will still want a cheek rest to raise the head.
