I was at my favorite gun store yesterday, and got some interesting scuttlebutt. Glock has come out with their new Generation 4 Glock 23 .40 cal pistols, and many police departments are switching to those. They are trading in their older versions for the new version. It seems the Gen 4 model comes with adjustable backstrap grip, and they will be better able to fit the pistol the the officer's grip.
So, if you don't care about the adjustable grip, in a couple of months, you may be able to pick up a used Glock .40 cal. for about $300 or so. The market will be saturated, driving the price lower.
Watch your local gun shop.

Thanks for the tip!! I have two 23's now, but there's always room for one or two more. Be aware that Glocks need to have the springs refreshed at periodic intervals and many departments will defray the cost of upgrading to Gen 4 guns by trading their previous Glocks in before replacing the spring sets. FYI!
