No, I'm not burning incense and moving to Tibet.
I'm looking for someone within a 100 mile radius (or so) of Durham,NC to "show me the ropes" so to speak. IOW, with me standing and watching, do a complete dis-assembly and re-assembly of M1A and critique or suggest what might be done to improve it. I will of course pay for this privilege. Any suggestions or referral's from forum members would be greatly appreciated as I can find no qualified individual in my area.

If you haven't already done so I would suggest getting these three books from Amazon, Fulton Armory or RA parts:

The M14 Owners Guide by Scott Duff & John Miller

The M14 Complete Assembly Guide by Walt Kuleck and Clint McKee

The U.S. .30 Caliber Gas Operated Service Rifles Vol. 1&2 by Jerry Kuhnhausen.

If you can only afford 1 get the Walt Kuleck book.
It will tell you everything you need to know and has a lot of photos.
