I had 2070... made the horrible mistake of getting talked out of it. You can't beat the quality of ELmer's rifles nor A.R. Sales, I knew Jack and Ilia.

The following M1A rifles have the "DEVINE TEX" mark on the barrel. Please add additional rifles as you know of, pictures appreciated.
I'm not implying agreement with the position that "DEVINE TEX" is a valid Elmer Ballance barrel marking. I am trying to keep the discussion organized for those not totally up to speed on this topic. I own M1A serial number 000049 but I have no Texas marked M1A rifles. There's no financial gain or loss to me. The truth will prevail.

Devine or A.R. Sales M1A
If anyone knows of a Devine Texas or A.R. Sales M1A, the minute my book goes to press, I'll buy one of these in a heartbeat. I need a good receiver to build a new NM rifle for myself. Elmer's and Jack and Ila's M1As have always been the best to date. Nope, I knew Clint, but I have no experience with Fulton's, not any of the current vendors. I know about Genesco.... sorry I've seen to many problems with their rifles... and yes, before anyone jumps on this, I know that a good amount of them are fine. I just prefer the best I know of. I want a new Camp Perry rifle. I'm going even as an old fart! GI2

it was hand stamped ..one line barrel was r&r two times since ownership of me ...it was sold in 2006 ! with m-1 grand style stock -no storage in the stock with rifle and MacMillan heavy stock -both had #601 marked ..
Just for clarity's sake( I try hard to keep things right in my mind- mild OCD here, too), did you mean TO or FROM?
....and that's ser. # 943, right?

Devine NM 002629 Electro-engraved. With SAK Barrel, JJH stamped.
Radium NM 002320 Electro-engraved. Has a CA (Canadian Armory NM) barrel.
I have spoken to Elmer Ballance about these two rifles, (He was very gracious about it!) and over the phone stated that was normal. I have sent pictures and information to Elmer to authenticate the pair of rifles.

No problem. I don't think there's a separate list for the Radium address. I think most consider them in the same list as the Devines, or Early Texas M1As.

I have number 1134 and originally owned one in 300 range which I traded Elmer M14 magazines for It should be easy to identify I had it rebuilt to match specs at Ft Benning the armorer electric engraved his name on it where its covered. I am not sure but it may have been 329. Anyone know how Elmer is doing these days?
I now own 000708 and would like a copy of these letters if possible...flyboy
