Aloha,

I just "shook hands" on a new, sent to my dealer by mistake, Les Baer 1911 style WadCutter gun! GTD 2.5" at 50 yds.

Wo baby, she is beautiful! Les does such nice work with his serrations! I just looked her over in the plastic bag, fell in love with it and said "done!" Now, I will find out what paper work I need and jump through the "hoops" to get her home...

I have a permit for long guns but each pistol has to be registered separately. Which involves several trips to the local PD. But she will be worth it!

I will post pics when I get her!

tom, congrats on the Baer. they're one fine pistol.
mine is a premier II. some of the best craftsmanship i ever held. i compared alot of customs when i was looking to plop down some cash and Baer was head and shoulders above the rest.
i do have to tell you though that i shoot my kimber as well as i do the baer and for half the money. its a classic stainless, the older model without the hookie firing pin safety.
they both out shoot me.

enjoy your new pistol, dont let it sit, shoot it ! it wont hurt it !

Aloha,

I wasn't sure if there were very many that had or new of Les Baer... so this is a welcome relief... This pistol is also a Premier II, with all the Wadcutter mods... polished feed ramp, softer spring, etc. and just perfect for me... I like shooting the 200 gr. lead SWC.

For ball, I have another 1911 pistol setup for that. So, I am really looking forward to getting this pistol in my hands... right now it has to live at the shop! Until I get to the PD... and do the paper work.

But this being the holidays, I will probably ask them to hold on to it until January for me... Of course, after I pay for it...

Aloha and Happy Holidays!

You will enjoy your pistol :!: I have a LB, TRS and can't get enough of it. Having owned several high end 1911's, I can say this one is the best yet.

Cool! I just got the green light from the Dealer to apply for a Pistol permit... then wait 2 wks, go to the PD again, get the permit, go to the Dealer, give permit, pay and pick up pistol, go back to the PD to register the firearm under my name and then its mine, all mine!!!

I have been wanting a Les Baer for a long time, mainly because of how well he puts them together. I also like Bill Wilson's LE Comp which he doesn't make anymore and the old Clark guns! I am so stoked that this Les Baer fell into my lap like this...

I can't wait for the paper work to be done!

I hope you enjoy the anticipatation.

I decided on a new Ruger revelover on Tuesday. My FFL called it in and we received it Fed-Ex on Wed. Recorded my CCW number,(no waite, no second background check) signed the paper, paid the money and was at the range that afternoon having fun.

That is the disadvantage of living in Arkansas. Impulse buying can keep you broke. :D

Aloha Tom,

Now that is how the law should handle firearms!!! I am doing so much redundant work that it is pathetic. But I am trying to follow whatever "hoops" they setup just so I can get what I want!!! In fact, today I completed the first of the "hoops"... I registered with the local PD for a handgun permit... whew, and that was an experience I would love to tell...

This permit is required never mind what I already have in the safe!?! Go figure!

Now I have to wait till January 6-12 to pickup my permit or it gets discarded, and I have to start all over! Boy if all of you could read my mind! I know I am getting way too old for this foolishness.

But just keeping you all updated...

Congrats on the Ruger!!! Are you going to post any pics? You gotta give us a peek... especially for those who haven't seen some of your pistols!!!

Aloha and Happy Holidays!

I wish you all had an FFL as good as mine who would sell to at a small profit margin and pass trade ins to his customers at the price he allows toward the sale. Arkansas gun laws are not totaly negative. A ccw holder does not have to have another background check on a gun purchas. All others are instant checks. If the background check clears you pay your money and take posession of your gun.

This causes me to buy way too many guns. (NOT) :D

Photos of the Rugers after christmas.
The wife gets a S&W 66 and Peltor Tactial 6 hearing protectors.
Son and nephew get Colt SA .45s and grand daughter geta a new Winchester .22 and what ever else she wants.

We will have fun. Hope you all have the same.
