Gonna be interesting - Winchester signed a 7 Year contract in 2019 with the Army when it took over Lake City operations, and I understand "surplus sales" (beyond the needs of the DoD) to the civilian market is part of that contract. If true, the question is whether Winchester has the will to seek a restraining order or will fold like a paper target.

Ever see a .gov contract ?? It has more holes than a target at an all minigun F/A shoot. They have clauses written in which basically allows them do/change almost anything at will. The only redeeming quality for the other party is that it's a guaranteed income stream for the term of the contract.

I've got a post that talks about the 2020 election, but it is languishing in limbo "awaiting moderator approval" -- I'm not sure if the message is staying invisible because I had the temerity to point out that it was gun owners who elected Biden or because I pointed out that Wayne LaPierre was the driving force behind the bump stock ban.

LOL it was FAKE voters (and probably some dead ones too) who "elected" Biden.

I have been a political junky since the 2000 election debacle. Kind of my "Super Bowl" every four years. I watched 2020 like every other. Trump ahead, but mysteriously the counting stopped at o'dark thirty (which I don't recall ever happening before, you count until results are in) and when it resumed Biden was magically ahead. Hmmm......

It didn't have to be nationwide or "widespread", just carefully targeted to certain swing states and more specifically to their inner-city counting centers run by scum who forced out election observers, closed blinds, etc. Oh yeah, buttloads of ballots pulled out from under tables (oops, forgot to turn off the cameras), etc.

I hope if the same shenanigans occur again....well let's just say I hope I sit on the jury of those who might be accused of busting counting center heads. NOT GUILTY.

Not exactly correct. Winchester built a new facility to ultimately replace the East Alton, IL plant and that new facility is dedicated to military ammunition production. The headstamp used by the new facility is "WMA" which is "Winchester Military Ammunition." So, yes, Winchester is selling ammunition to the military from Winchester factories.

It won't happen in my opinion. Things may get slightly better after the elections but their are too many stupid and corrupt people in the District of Columbia. Robbers infest some of the highest seats in our land. The swamp out east is in desperate need of a cleansing. Our government is becoming more and more like a corrupt country like Brazil. Rulers rule by the few and for the few.

Good news is there are about 35 decent State governments that protect or somewhat protect our liberties. I hope you are in a State that guards the people's liberties. Make friendships of people you can rely on, get food storage (at least six months to one year), water filters and ammo storage. Have multiple firearms and train. You are going to need it. (And I hope my predictions on the future are all wrong.)

"Surplus" ammunition is such that has been inspected and accepted by the military. It is released when it is no longer needed. Surplus USGI ammunition has not been released to the public since 1994. Some blame Clinton, but I haven't seen anything regarding an executive order.

The fodder coming out of Lake City for retail sale, by either Federal or Winchester, is believed to have been rejected by the military.

I suspect a lot of the Winchester WMA ammunition on the market is in the same category.

If this order goes through, the ammunition in question will most likely be demilled and sold as components.

So what do you think would be going on now if democrats had super majority in house and senate? Look beyond the tree and see the forest. This country could be going through what Germany went through in 1938 and 1939 with an unchecked political party that had weaponized their law enforcement agencies (read fbi, doj, cia, etc.) to do their bidding for them. Every time I turn the TV on I see members of this administration spouting out lies that make me think "what the hell...is anybody really believing this" and the sad thing is majority of this country does. I'm not saying we would all of a sudden be living in a utopia, but rather the party of biden, pelosi, schumer (lower case used for lack of respect), and the squad wouldn't be in the majority telling the people in the flyover states how to think and live.
