Kel-Tec SU-16, Any thoughts

1686 Views 6 Replies 7 Participants Last post by  24kshooter
I have heard that the SU-16 is a pretty good rifle. More accurate than the mini 14. Does anyone have any experience with these? Are they worth it?

Thanks

Its a good plinking gun
The sights are funky but if you put a decent red dot on it you'll be surprised at its accuracy. I put a Hakko BED-35 on mine and I love it
A big plus is if you already have an AR-15, then your 20 + 30 round mags will feed your SU-16 as well
Overall, its a fine, fun gun and your only alternative to a Mini-14 in a semi-auto 223
On sale in San Jose for $469
I'd take an SU-16 anytime over an AR!
Keltec obviously got this one right.
Yes, Kel-Tec SU-16 should be fun and cost effective.

I really dislike the plastic weaver rail and front sight. I do not like the skinny barrel, either. However, as I say, it should be fun and cost effective.

The other one I am looking for is Volquartsen Evolution. It looks of quality and it accepts all AR-15 mags. However, it's expensive. I think it's more than $1500.

Well, the best thing I am expecting is to lift the ridiculous KaliBan. Then I can get AR, AK, SVD, FN/FAL and HK/G3 as many as I can afford. ;)

I don't think so. For the same money I would build an AR that would be much superior to any SU-16.

I have to agree with ya here.

We had one go through the shop - defiantely should have "made by Mattel" or perhaps Hasbro on the stock. I would rate it more in the survival catagory with the new Henry Xplorer. Seems a bit overpriced for what it is.
