Just got back home from my local FFL dealer with my NM M14 under my arm. To say I'm excited would be an understatement.

This rifle has the LARGEST stock I have ever seen. It is about 1/2" wider than the upper handguard and tapers to about 3/8th" wider near the ferrule. Looks nicely bedded and everything looks great (except castle nut but big deal, I can get a nicer one later).

Will take some pics and post. I hope to take it to the range on Sunday and see how she shoots. :D

Aloha,

Tom O.

Theres a M14 converted on Canadian Guns for 450..but according to him he cant send it across the border..sigh..

I'd like to be the guy that has the garbage can full of sealed USGI 20rd mags that he bought for $10 each. Wonder if he'd send us all one for a Xmas present..

The grain/finish is unusual to me. But overall it looks like a really nice rifle. Now, I hope it shoots as well as it looks.

Did ya guys catch Hawk's dummy selector? Looks awesome!

Best Wishes,

Tom O.

1st Range Report!

Thanks for the nice words everyone. It gave me some energy to give this rifle a quick twirl.

An inspection of the rifle was performed last night and it seems like I couldn't put her down... kept shouldering it... Awww, you guys know what I mean.

Anyway, today, I took her to the range. Actually, I took three M1A's to the range to shoot. The SA Loaded M1A to test the rifle accuracy (I just finished the Tubb's treatment), the SA NM M1A to sight in and practice for a local shoot (CMP certification) and to test fire the new Armscorp NM M14.

Earlier in the day, after shooting targets for accuracy, I was shooting everything in sight (metal targets of course) from 200 to 430 yds. That was a hoot. Man, that ammo goes fast when you're having fun.

Next I wanted to practice shooting from the prone, sitting and standing positions. I know I'm going to hurt tomorrow. It did show that I was OUT of SHAPE and NEED MUCH MORE practice.

Lastly, I took out the Armscorp NM M14. Zeroed the rifle using the iron sights (hey guys, I know, I have some old eyeballs). The rifle shoots extremely smooth and the weight of the rifle keeps her from rising. Since it was late in the day... I shot one last target. 10 rds. rapid fire with Port ammo, as quick as I could get on target (50 yds though, I can't see my targets at 100 until I get my new glasses). This is what I got. I bet NOT really impressive to you all but I liked it (knowing my capabilities) and now I know (at least to me)... this rifle is a KEEPER!

I know, I'll improve my shooting, but I think the rifle can almost shoot itself. 8)

Tom,

5-X's, 4-10's and a 9 breaking 10? 8O If I were you I'd get rid of that thing as soon as possible! Tell you what, I'll take it off your hands and give you what you paid for it..... 8) Sound like a fair deal?

I think you have a keeper!!

Addiction

Dighawaii, I think you've got the same bug I caught. I just talked to a guy selling a Springfield NM with a Arms mount and scope and I don't think I can pass it up. It would be #5. Is there a cure???!!!

just picked up my M14! (with Pics now...&1stnrange repo

Good looking rifle. I saw your user name is MKSM14. You did not mention that one. Did you have problems with it. I had one of the new receiver ones and had problems with it. Not trying to get that started again, just wonder if you had the same type of problems that I did.
