I ordered a RCBS Ultrasonic cleaner and it just showed up so I ran over to the reloading bench to give it a try. I am very happy with it so far because I don't have to wipe brass down or clean primer pockets anymore.....

I don't know any tricks but I somebody knows of any please share. I preheated the distilled water, added Hornady cleaner, put in about 40 rounds of 30-378 brass, set the timer to 30 min, heat on high and hit the start button. After about 15 mins I moved the brass around and waited for it to finish. Rinsed the brass in clean water and stacked them to dry. I wasn't sure if I was going to like it at first but man is it nice.

Dish soap and hot water, drain and rinse, then place on a cookie sheet in a warm oven.

For best results wifey should be out of house.

Whew...

A small amount of citric acid- about one level teaspoon per half-gallon to a gallon or so- will dramatically speed up the cleaning process, and it will passivate the brass thereby minimizing tarnishing. Just don't leave the cases in the solution too long.

Historic Historic Timekeeper's™ ® Ultrasonic Clock Cleaner Concentrate

I use this all the time to clean brass clock parts in my ultrasonic. I've used it to clean brass too, but it tends to contaminate the solution so I don't use it on clocks after I do my reloading brass.

Only thing I wish for is a better shine on the brass after ultrasonic, but it does take off all the case lube from my .308 brass. I used to use a vibratory with corn cob to clean and polish, but the ultrasonic does ok as far as I'm concerned.

I use a small cement mixer to tumble my brass in corn cob with Dillon Rapid Polish, Oh did I forget to say That that for doing about 150-200 .50 BMG cases at a time. I took the paddles in side the mixer out and made some small ones so it doesn't chew up my brass, I can do about 2000 5.56 cases at a time.
I can only get about 15 .50 cal cases in my other vibratory cleaner.

Used some Lyman's cleaner in a 1 gallon ultrasonic. Used the directions for dirty/corroded brass and ran for 20 minutes. I'm very satisfied with the results and it does seem to clean the primer pockets better than corncob or walnut can do. Probably due to particle size and how often the media goes in and out of the hole.
