Cruise is way too short to play jack reacher. I kept thinking he looked like a midget trying to be a bad ass. I don't see how lee child could have been ok with this choice. Since john Wayne and Clint Eastwood are gone....I'd go with......
Yea the movie wasn't great. But I knew to expect a cheesy movie like that. But yea the author or director (whomever made Reacher an MP) made a huge mistake doing that. I've never seen an MP with ridiculous training like he's a dark operator or something. Maybe I'm missing something. But I expected an over the top movie to replicate or try to replicate late 80's and early 90's films.

The author is a native of England. He tried real hard with the story line in the book but his non-American backround showed up in more than a few places throughout the book. The actual sniping was less than 35 yards in the book as opposed to 300 in the movie using an M1A Super Match. Jack Reacher also was 6'5" in the story.

Ok don't. That dude is bat BLANK crazy. But I have seen an inverse correlation with sanity and acting skills.
He makes some damn good-bad movies. Don't make me name them.

I've liked some of his movies. Mission Impossible 1 was fun. Top Gun was hilarious. What... it wasn't a comedy? USN3
I just wish hollywood stars would accept the fact that they get old and stop trying to play leading/action roles when they've stretched their skin to the limit over their crazy skulls.
Play the wacky uncle or the quirky salesman/sidekick for a while, then die like a good hollywood loon.

Alright he did alright in "The Last Samarai" but only because you get to see the warriors beat the stuffin outta him until he finally learns something.
