I think I will have reached the label of "having lived too long" when my body is too broken to earn a living and all my life savings is gone. Hopefully that will never happen.
I don't care if he was gay, though the selection of the type of ship seems like somebody behind the scenes had a sense of humor, albeit perhaps not so politically correct.
Don't quit yet Honest Tom, just file it under "Whatever..."
I never heard of Harvey Milk until I bought a CD by Mark Isham years ago that had some music from the soundtrack to the movie, Life and Times of Harvey Milk. Only reason he was a hero is because he was murdered.
Maybe John Lennon should get a ship.
Preference aside, I had read on another forum, which is also stated in the link below that Milk did not receive and honorable discharge. To name a Naval ship after someone receiving less that an honorable discharge is low enough.
Milk, the former San Francisco supervisor, served in the Navy during the Korean War but was discharged after being questioned about his sexual orientation.
