Yep, Its offical I'm out......Out of .45 Ammo that is.... I went out plinking with my Uncle and dusted off what I had loaded up, near 500rds of mixed 185/230 .45acp loads.

I just finished cleaning my kitchen table special and it was filthy/dirty, but it never let my down. Not one choke or stoppage in the 5000rds of reloads that I have run threw it too date. On a side note its just as tight as when I first put it together, only much smoother.

I snagged some VV310 on the way home and will crack into it just as soon as I burn threw what 231 I have left over. Waist not, want not, right... Projo's will have too waite there not in the budget until some needed truck repairs are made, life gets in the way don't it.

While its down time I can replace the old springs with a new set, 5000rds is my limit.

I've been finding some good deals on Remington .45, 230 grain FMJ at Walmart. Usually it's 90 dollars or so for 250 rounds. I caught it one time for $82.

And I agree, it's amazing what can come off a kitchen table GI2

I've loaded cast lead for about 40 years now. Did buy some of the painted/coated lead 230 grain bullets awhile back. I need to try some of them out. Still got a 500 bullet box of 230 grain LRN and a partial box of the same.

Just loaded up 474 rounds a couple days ago (230 LRN with 6.0 grains of Unique.)

I'm cleaning some more brass today/tomorrow and I really need to try some Red Dot with the 230 grain LRN. I've got a few pounds of it left over from dad's shotgun reloading supplies.

I have sense picked up some Herrets full checkered grips that are a few shade lighter than the ones pictured, sold the plunger swaging tool so that investment was a wash and unchanged. For X-mas I treated myself too a new Kart barrel so add another $125. too the final costs that's currently about half fitted.

Still on the list of too do's, flat top and serrate the slide. BOMAR cut the rear of the slide and dovetail front sight, refinish slide and checker front strap @ 25LPI, done. I do have the BOMAR rear sight and dove tailed front sight already.

Sorry guy's, I roll my own ammo. And its going too be a while before I roll any for the 1911. I have two trucks down 1 is in need of injectors and I think the computer is down in the other, neither are going too be cheap fixes.

Never had much luck with W231 in the .45... which is a shame, since I have 8# of the stuff. My standard .45 load is 6.5grn Unique under any 230grn bullet.

Can't remember the last time I cleaned my Kimber... probably ~2000 rounds or so ago. I drip a little CLP on the rails and off I go...

I have one setting in the bag with the original directions.

You're out of range ammo, but better not be out of SHTF defense ammo, Sir! DISHOUT

Let's see I've got 11k or so reloads loaded, 3k Brass ready to load and components on hand to load another 30K.

Go to load 5.3grns W231 under MBC 200grn LSWC.

And probably 5K plus factory on hand, mixed Ball and JHP.

I'm good for now I think.
