I see the older ones at gun stores and gun shows quite often. Millions were made before the original company went bankrupt.

As cheap as $250 up to $400 most of the time, based on condition and style (smooth stock vs. checkered, plain barrel vs. vent rib, etc.)

Good luck. When I hunted I tried other shotguns, but always went back to my M37 after a day or two of carrying heavier guns. Except the 1100 3" mag. 12 ga. I only carried it one day.

@m1a are best,
I live in commie California so they would be super expensive and I never see them here at the gun shows. Would you refer me to the gun shops in your area that would have them at those prices? I would greatly appreciate it and be indebted to you. What state are you from?

@ Kurt C,
Are they always that expensive? $4,500-6,000 is a lot.
I think that is a WWII example, so it is probably higher than a Vietnam era one. You are probably still looking at $2k for a nice one with all the proof marks. Even the new ones marketed by Inland are over $1k.
@ Kurt,
Would you be willing to help me look for one? I'll spend 2k or under for a Vietnam one. I would be very grateful.

Sorry, I misunderstood. I thought you were willing to convert a standard M37 to the trenchgun configuration.

I'm not sure I've ever seen a trenchgun model, just lots of regular hunting guns.

Again, sorry.

That would work too, the m37s are not very popular here in California. It really sucks here in Cali.
Anyways I would get a regular m37 and convert it. It would be a lot cheaper! Would it be difficult? How much would the parts be? Also if you can get some contacts for me for those m37s at a reasonable price for me to convert I'd greatly appreciate it.
Or text me 310-242-7717

Those military trench shot guns used bayonets intended for the M1917 rifles. They are about the same length as the original 03 Springfield rifle bayonets. Around 17" of blade, I think. The Springfield bayonets won't fit the trench guns, just the M1917 bayonets.

But, the British bayonets, while looking similar are not same. The spacing between the blade and the ring for the muzzle are different. A British bayonet won't fit on an M1917 or a trench gun mount.
