NO, well at least the military does/did not, the barrel blocks go right in front of the sight base/collar. That is what I use, works fine. On the 03A3 you can use commercial block that go around chamber area.
Installing barrels
When wrenching on a 03 barrel , does the collar have to be removed from the new barrel before tightening ?,
