I hate to feed the hoarders but thought you all might want to know.

Also have VV N-135 although I think it's a bit fast for the M1A.

Funny... I just posted a question concerning N135 v. N140.

Why do you think N135 is to fast for the M1A ?

Numerous burn rate charts show it very close to IMR 4064 and H4895....

So I am truly curious why so many people think it is to fast ?

Again , no offense intended at all.

BTW, only the 1lb is left.

I bought N135 after talking with a tech guy at Lapua and explaining exactly which rifle I was using and what projectile (168gr SMK). My velocities were above projections from Hornady manual and Vihta Vuori online data. RAMMAC tried running my results through QuickLoad. The only way he was able to match my chronograph results was by overriding the burn rate and making it faster. My theory is that the CCI #34 primers I was using might have been the critical variable (QuickLoad doesn't have inputs for different primers, I think because they are so variable themselves).

In any event, Hodgdon 4895 was more accurate in my tests than I could get anything with N-135. Your experience might be different. Also, more M14/M1A shooters seem to use N-140 which is just a bit slower.

Also, I've used N-135 in an AR-15 with CCI #41 primers and got higher than predicted velocities there too.

Sorry for going off topic even if I did start the thread DISHOUT

I had just the opposite. WW LR Primers and N135 blew the doors off IMR 4895. I was only shooting 155 gr and pulled 147 M80 pills. It's always something.....
