i missed a lot of the postings.

You did a great job on it, like new.

That is a deck mount you have there.

common on signal guns up to 3 inch.

I had a 3 inch naval Dahlgren that was converted to breech loading.

I was on a mount like that about 4 feet high IIRC, it disappeared while I was in the army.

I love those old pieces, the workmanship was flawless.

Too bad it doesn't fire projectiles. That would be good for chucking, especially if the pintel mount was on a Jeep.

Should do a better job than your metal triangle when signaling "come for dinner?"

Been working on having cases made for it, I just received one for trial before I have a larger batch made, the original case is from a 37mm Hotchkiss round, it was computer scanned and then made on a CNC machine, fit was perfect, primer pocket is for a standard 209 primer, I have loaded up one case but have not test fired yet.

I am going to do a chamber casting with modeling clay then bake it and ship it out, funny thing was that aluminum case fit perfect before and even after it split, almost like the heat may have shrunk the metal, going to try either forged brass or stainless steel for the next experiments, it was literally a "Blast" to shoot, and Loud!

Why not go with a steel sleeve and base inside the aluminum cartridge kinda like sleeving a cannon barrel. A smaller charge will not be noticed for a salute cannon.
