so a few weeks ago I picked up some m14 parts from a acquaintance at a local gun show for cheap, so figured I would start another build.
I got a nice TRW bolt, nice Winchester trigger group, NOS gas cylinder assembly, NM armory built NM spring guide, NOS USGI SA op rod, and then the barrel witch is a NOS SA 7791326 9 63 SD 13 National Match marked barrel.
my question is; how rare is this barrel???

I don't have the part numbers readily available to me ..., is it a chrome lined barrel? If so, it would be relatively rare as only the very first production of NM barrels were chrome lined and 1963 is the time frame during which they were made. A decision was made fairly early on that the chrome lining was not necessary in an NM barrel and the barrels would be more accurate if the barrels were not chrome lined.

I believe there's a typo in the original post, the part number is 7791362 which would be the standard weight NM barrel, non chrome lined.

If it is NOS it is very rare. New M14 barrels are all over the place, but for someone building an all USGI, historically correct, maybe XM21 sniper clone for example, that barrel would be very desirable.

Yep I must have fat fingered it, 7791362 is correct and I checked it to verify it is non chrome lined. the chamber and bore are shiny new. their is no wear marks any where and the OP rod guide area has been knurled

This dam barrel got the best of me! I somehow convinced myself to build a correct NM rifle based around it, i already had a NOS sa op-rod, NM armory spring guide, GI NM front and rear sights, NM nos unitized gas cylinder, Trw bolt and winchester trigger group. So i set aside the trw bolt and win trigger group and bought a usgi SA bolt and trigger group from windy-city and another receiver off the PX. I knew i should have sold this barrel before i grew attached to it.

Great decision to go ahead and build it - you'd be crazy not to!

(see what I did there?)
