hi, usually how many click i need to give to the rear sight on a standard M1A , with a standard velocity 308 FMJ bullets, to a target at 500 yds ? tks BR ric

The standard come-ups for the M14/M1 with pretty much any ammo:

From 100 to 200yds--2 clicks up
from 200 to 300yds--3 clicks more
from 300 to 600yds (540yds)-- 12-14 clicks more

So if you normally shoot at 100m and want to shoot at 500m, I'd add 17 clicks.
