My first post.

I have just read about the Holbrook Device for M1 Garands.
At my age with arthrhritis it has gotten hard for me to load my Garand.
So I've decided to purchase one of these devices.
Lo and behold it is a Unicorn. They don't really exist. Or do they?
Can anybody direct me to a source for one?
BTW. I've never received a Garand Thumb. Don't want one either.
Thanks all.

Mountain Aerospace Machining in Montana was selling a newly manufactured device that did the same thing in early spring this year, but they seem to have vanished.

Thanks.
I'll see if if I can find Aerospace Machining somehow.
I am surprised that an article in an NRA magazine about fine tuning a Garand can mention an item that is not available.

Check out the CMP Forum. I believe Holbrook posted on there that he had them.

John has made them for years, from USGI or Italian parts. Remember that John is no spring chicken, but I seem too remember many years back he also made a Aluminum version. So there out there and you just have too look around too find one if you want one bad enough. FYI there not difficult too make for yourself....

The SLED is a lot less money and works fine. I read elsewhere how a certain mod here messed up his finger trying to get one out of his M1 once, LOL. As he was then told, always have a smallish slot screwdriver handy to reach down to free it up. The thread was about putting a round in the chamber and letting the bolt fly home onto the loaded round which most consider a no-no, I sure do. The OP of that thread, had a slam fire when doing so and got the boot off the match.
The SLED negates the need to do this. Or the Holbrook device, but at $75, I like the SLED.
