I have been looking through the forum. Is there somewhere in this forum where others have installed a new walnut stock on their Loaded M1a"?
The synthetic stock that comes with it just doesn't belong IMHO.
I know to remove as little if any material to keep the stock as tight as possible.

Should not be a problem. Most stocks fit most rifles with little or no fitting.

Both of my Loadeds are in fine Doug Carlton wood and they look much better then with the synthetic stocks. Look at the stock sub forum and watch the PX, you will find many stocks that will work well for you. They will fit well.
