IMO, it's the real deal. The original stock was likely a birch wood stock. If I lived in Italy, I would buy it.

Amo Italia

Your the first person I ever heard of that lived in Italy and had an M1A.

I have travelled to Rome, Florence, Pisa, Sienna, All around Tuscany, Sardinia and Sicily.

I wondered what the rules are for a tourist to ship over a rifle like an M1A on a temporary basis and where there are any competitions I could get involved with.

I have has Italians visiting friends in my neighborhood and we took them to our local range for skeet and trap and some pistol shooting.

I'd like to do that in Italy.

P.S, really nice M1A

Thats not a M1A, Its a real M14 made by H&R, I would love to have it.
If you could export that to the US it would probably worth 60K!

There's a couple other Italian guys on here with M1As. Polytechs I think. That rifle is cool and looks genuine, same for the scope. That's the old Garand sniper scope they carried over from WW2.

Different,
Possibly 1 of the less than 100 M14A1 Sniper Rifles? Per your first book, M14 RHAD p. 41-42: Looks like 3 out of 5 and counting. I ran across a glass bedded USGI walnut M14E2 stock just last week; told the owner to contact you with his info. The original stock for this H&R M14 rifle may prove VERY interesting.

1. H&R M14 Rifle
2. M14E2 bedded walnut stock with vertical fore grip removed (M14 butt plate?)
3. Griffin & Howe M84 2.2X Scope
4. M16A1 bipod
5. Select Fire

Price is 2500.00 euro for the rifle only.( with bipod)
4000.00 euro for rifle with m84 and mount scope.

It's was not born original sniper.

The is another HR M14 on one gun store for 2400.00 euro.

M14 in Italy have the selector , but inside it's milled so only semiauto.
