rifle 30-06 mauser action 24 in. bbl.
i only have at this time a 50 yd indoor range.
i want to sight the rifle at 150 - 200 yds using 150gr.psp factory ammo
where do i need to have impact at 50 yds ? 1in 2in -5in ( get the picture) to be close at that distance ,so when i go out at real distance not have to waste a lot of time and ammo.

also have a tikka 6.5x55 with 140 gr. factory psp ammo, 22in bbl.
again 50yds max at this moment. going for 200 yds bulls eye

who can give me a quick tutorial on bullet placement at 50yds to equal close to 200yds.????

thanks ,ps waiting for the storms to move on so i can get out to the indoor range.

using a scope on both

you can try getting on one of the ballistic calculators online and adding all the data or were going to need the zero weather, bc, velocity. the chart will tell you what to adjust to for said range. using my data for my 168 handloads in moa and 50 yard zero, a 200 yd zero will have 1.12 moa of drop. this is for a .308 with a velocity of around 2660. its going to be different for the 150 in 30-06. if you can give the velocity on the box with the ballistic coefficient, scope above bore measurement, weather conditions for when you will be shooting. we can give you a more accurate figure to adjust to, but no ballistic computer will be 100% correct compared to going out and shooting...
remember all ammo will give you a different zero.

Cannot help starting at 50 yards. The elevation "come-ups" for the M1 Garand in .30/06 in match shooting starting from a 100 yard elevation zero:

100 to 200 yd add 2 MOA
200 to 300 yd add 3 MOA
300 to 600 yd add 11 MOA

These elevation changes will get you on the target and maybe close to the center.

Be sure to use a LARGE piece of paper for the target backer at 50 and 100 yards - at least about 2x2 feet. Getting a precise 50 yard zero isn't critical - within about 2 inches will work. Then go to 100 yards and adjust until you're satisfied.

If you're NOT hitting paper at 100 yards, ask someone to stand directly behind you and look for dirt impacts.

Using my "SpotOn" app for my Nikon ProStaff 3-9x40 scope and putting in a Barnes Vor-TX TTSX 150gr in 30-06 zeroed at 50yd and a target at 200yd it indicates "0.00" inches high at 50yd for a 200yd zero.
