Hi everyone, just wanted to say hey and thanks in advance for the wealth of information I've already read (and used) on this site. Just picked up my M1A Scout this past weekend and fell even more in love (if that was possible) after shooting it.

Thanks a lot guys.

And, yes GARRARD, for the time being we're still allowed guns haha. Just no magazines larger than 15 rounds because, well, as everyone knows they're evil. ICONROLLEY

LOL, i swore if Corzine won the election i was moving out of the Peoples republic. anyways Christie is no better then Corzine, but i like him cuz he leaves us gun owners alone.

Another Jersey resident checking in.

I hale from south jersey and shoot out of telco.
wELCOME!!!

As nice as it is to havepeople from pro-gun states, it's even more so to have people who are living under some form of socialism. You've been there, and can keep it from happening elsewhere. Onward!
brownells seems to have the best price on 15 rounders, fyi
Welcome to the forum, enjoy.

Don't bet on it. Many of his cases when he was AG were gun cases. He ran on this platform.

Didn't know they made 15 rounders. I use their 20 rounders and they have functioned perfectly.

Thanks for the info on the 15 rounders, I hadn't seen any yet.

Same here.
SAI has them for $50 if you buy a new m1a you get a loaded coupon call them they give discount $37. I bought 3 one was cmi.
Got me curious as Checkmate or 44Mag.com didn't have them listed. A while back I was discussing the blocking of a twenty to fifteen but no one seemed to have a definite answer on the legality in NJ or other states.

Brownells has them listed on their site as CMI magazines.
blocking mags is a grey area.If you hunt with a shotgun the mag block is a plastic pencil .Making tubular mag hold 2 not 4. But thats ok !Some people say it has to permenatly blocked.I dont know of anyone being prosecuted for mag block.

How is range 14? My buddy and I were thinking about checking it out. Do you have to be a member to shoot or can you just pay per hour/day?
my understanding is that it has to be blocked and pinned or welded, something like that. I never asked because i feel that if you want to be stingy and save 20 bucks you might want to reconsider the risk of a 10 year prison sentence!
Another Jersey shooter checking in.As far as the blocking, it has to be "permanent" NJSP definition of permanent is that once the blocking mechanism is removed the magazine is rendered unusable (reasonably)and cannot be converted back to hi capacity.I think the term used was "without considerable effort".Title 39 is written in the vaguest of terms, intentionally of course. If you ever want a good laugh, look up the definition of "firearm" under title 39. A spitball shooter or a rubber band toy is technically a firearm,as is a paintball gun and an airsoft gun.

We had this discussion one day but I'm of the opinion that unless done by someone who really knows what they are doing you only wind up with a unreliable magazine. Some tried a block of wood and cutting of springs. I'd rather just have a well made 15 rounder.

A while back I wanted a new updated copy of the firearm's processing procedures from the state. So much has changed recently with the live scan and other processing requirements that it was causing some slowdowns. The state's last issue was ten years ago. Probably the only improvement was a fillable PDF STS033. Although the live scan was a big improvement.
