Sorry for the bad title but a quick question about Hammers. I have a non-USGI trigger group in my SOCOM, after reading about the horrors of broken tines and bad parts I changed our the Hammer with a SA USGI Hammer. As soon as I did that I had to do a function check, naturally. When I let the hammer fly it seems to hit... Harder!? What used to be a click is now a Clickish THUD with a slight ring after, like the hum of tuning forks. I think its cool sounding, and definately has that Manly Feel to it.

Now the question, is this normal? the harder hitting and "Ting" after? I just dont want to overstress anything, could this be just the materials from non-USGI to AWESOME USGI?

It must like your trigger & hammer spring. Shoot it some and see if you're getting good drop time.

Good forged parts ring, denser metal too probably increasing the impact. Mine makes the same noise and based on your description feels the same... I have a USGI SA complete trigger group.
