ohhh, you're saying welding BOTH halves back together is forbidden but joining half of an old receiver to half a new receiver is legal?

Yes.
1. The new receivers are commercial. They were never part of a machine gun.
2. The heel that came off the machine gun is rearward of the lug.
It's all semantics and none of it makes any sense.

They pull that kind of stuff at Gunshows all the time. No, it's not entrapment. Just like fishing for Johns and prostitutes isn't entrapment.

Whew that pretty insane!
Anyone else notice an increase in questionable NFA M14 like items on GB lately?
There is the one from this auction and within the last few months there was a legit M14 that had the auction closed for it to be surrendered to the ATF...at the time I assumed it had been liberated in a duffel bag by a serviceman being discharged, but after seeing this one I am wondering if there is a pattern?
