Hey does anyone know of any good smiths in the Tucson area? I called GG&G and apparently they don't really do much of anything for the M1A even though their website says they do. They were kind of undfriendly too. Anyone ever deal with them? I thought it was cool that they were so close to me, (15, 20 minute drive) but they don't seem to do much with the M1A's so it doesn't really matter how close they are.

Thanks

When I had dealings with them they were not very friendly, but they do great work. I think they want the big military contracts for the big bucks.

FMJ,
You might give them another try. I've been dealing with Smith Enterprise for 3 years and no matter how busy Ron and Bill always find time to talk and answer any questions. Usually I have to suggest cutting the call short because of cell phone minutes  .

Greg,
I have had the same excellent experience with Ron Smith as you. I called about some parts for an "AR" project and we talked at least an hour.
Great preson!

Warbird,

It's actually for something really easy. I would like a competent gunsmith to install my ARMS 18 mount arms rings and SS scope. Preferably one with experience with this particular rifle and mount. I've seen alot of post concerning people trying to do it themselves and then needing help to fix something that broke shortly afterward. Besides, I have never done much of anything in terms of work on my own guns. I'd much rather a good smith do the work.

Thanks for the input. I don't know if I will make that drive for what I need done. There is bound too be someone in town that has worked on these items before.
