I took my new Scout apart and found that it was nicely greased from the factory. I added some grease to the bolt and the op rod. I used Tony Ben's videos as a good starting point. First real post from a first time owner! Now all I need to do is to actually shoot it!

Enjoy the shooting indeed! Also huge shoutout to TonyBen for the fantastic greasing/cleaning guide. I have used them as well and they are an invaluable resource.

The Tony videos are great indeed! I would post a pic, bit I don't know how to yet, and mine is just a basic Scout in wood, so nothing special. Special to me for sure!

My buddy has his FFL so I ordered through him. $1499. You can find similar prices online.

Received 500 rounds of 147g jacketed ammo in the mail. I ordered the PMC bronze .308. This ammo has good reviews and should work just fine for the 100 - 150 yard ranges around here.
Plus an order of Tubbs finishing ammo is on the way. The range is calling me!

Are you going to note accuracy before and after the tubbs lapping?

I don't know if I am accurate enough as a shooter to make a statement. Keep in mind, this is my first high powered rifle. My .22s are all dialed in nicely. I am a noob here. Never shot an M1A. I've shot the Garand and some other 30 cals. Just trying to do the right things with this purchase. Right now the outdoor ranges are open, but we have Spring sloppy cold conditions here. I thought about using the local indoor 20 yard rifle range just to fire off the lapping rounds with no account on accuracy.
