The pickings are getting slimmer...still has so many stocks it is overwhelming but the this selection trip took much longer than the others.
No Garand stocks worth mention, the sampling I saw was very poor.
Found a hidden collection of painted FG stocks, all kinds with hand guards. Was told I had the last of them last year, obviously the move shook things loose.
Opened up a sealed box of P grade walnuts that were PRISTINE. Deepest markings and cleanest lines ever. Just beautiful, not my thing, but remarkable.
E2s everywhere and going out the door quickly. Again, not my thing and they are going for a premium. If you want one, call the man, he is staging box after box.
Pricing has never been higher. Demand for the kind of thing i value is exceeding supply (or time to discover it).
Big Reds of all kinds seem to be more prevalent. Birch and Walnut.
Way more exotic walnut than birch. The truly "different" birch took much longer to find. The walnut is much easier.
The communications/picking/shipping seems to be picking up as does the organization of the inventory. Big, big difference from the past. I suspect things will be changing much more in the future, it's been fun but my ease of access may be coming to an end.
