I replaced my stock SAI M21 bolt guts with G.I. guts. It FTE's about every 3rd round now, its hitting the Sadlak mount and bouncing back into the receiver. Never did it before with the SAI guts. Just goes to show don't believe everything you read on the internet.

It may be something as simple as spring tension or the way the extractor grabs the case rim. Lots of things effect the direction of ejected brass.

I agree with the 'ain't broke don't fix it idea' but the direction of the brass is more likely due to different parts than it is to replacing standard with GI parts. As Ted says (and he is the man in this conversation) you can modify the extractor or the ejector slightly and change the direction.
