Glock sights

I just picked up a second G19, and the previous owner replaced the OEM sights with some aftermarket sights that I hate. I want to replace the sights with night sights, and I am looking for recommendations.

I believe you can purchase Glock sights Here. They should have a variety of color and size options.GI5

My browser at work wouldn’t load the web site all the way, and I was searching around for a minute before I realized what it was.
Sorry, couldn't help myself.

Are you looking for tritium or fiber optic sights? Personally I like tritium, and have heard good things about the Trijicon sights (a bit pricey though).
I prefer tritium as well. The previous owner installed Trijicon's, but it’s a "home defense” sight. It has a large white dot on the front sight, and the rear is a “V” shape with a small white line in the center. I can’t get use to it, and I want to switch it out for some normal night sights.
I prefer the Ameriglo Spartan Night Sights.

Green rear with green front inside an orange outline. Really helps pick up the front sight during daylight. I put these on all my Glocks.

Often I just replace the front sight and leave the rear without any tritium. No one takes the time to line stuff up. Put the front sight on the perp and squeeze. I really like the orange front/tritium combo. I am a Glock certified armorer which is the equivalent of having a kindergarten diploma, but I have changed out dozens and dozens of sights for folks and I always recommend these. No complaints either.

Sorry Dire88, not funny. Could have been malicious, and scared the pants off of me out of fear of picking up a virus, something I'm famous for at my former place of employment. You will understand if I don't follow any more of your links.

How hard is it to swap out the sight? The sights are one of the few things on the glock that I am weary about doing myself.

Side note, I hated when S&W went to that ridiculous rear "V-notch" sight on their revolvers.
Stupid easy. You need a single tool.

Put some red loctite on the replacement and make sure it is straight. Leave it alone overnight to dry. Just the smallest bit of red loctite on the threads. Also make sure it is square after installation.

This is the best tool available and much superior to the Glock tool.

Front sight you want:
AR-AP-AMIAJGQ-GL-212-220-OR-C

Do you need a tool to get the rear sight out, and the new sight centered?
Yes. I have the sight pushers. Local guns stores that sell Glocks have them usually. Call around. Expect to pay $25.

Did it just give issues loading or a warning or something? If you hover the link you'll see it's just a link to the Tupperware replacement parts order page.
I flat love my Tru-Glo's (Glock 17L). They are BOTH tritium and fiber-optic. You could shoot a black cat in a coal mine with them..

You can't go wrong with Trijicon brand sights. The one you described on the gun sounds like it may be the XS "Big Dot" front sight. A lot of shooters like them, but I'm with you on this.

I replaced the standard Trijicon sights on my Glock 30 to the Heine "Straight 8" night sights. They are a little bit taller, and the rear sight has enough steel and is a good shape for effective one handed slide operation. I like the ability to clear a malfunction by hooking the rear sight on holster, belt, boot, door frame, etc., and driving the weapon forward to cycle the slide and clear. Just something to consider. I frequently have something else in my opposite or weak hand like a flashlight, radio, door handle, etc. when my weapon is drawn. Not that the Glock has issues with malfunctions or anything, just a drill to practice to get the weapon back into a fight if needed. I remember searching google images to see what they look like on my model before I ordered them.

The others are spot on with the front sight change, but rear sights require a sight pusher to properly install. I borrowed one from one of our range officers, and it was easy to do. My Glock 19 rear sight is measurably left of center, but is aligned properly for 25 yards. Strange, but Glock 19's seem to share that amoung the older ones at least. Good luck with your decision.

Heine "Straight 8" night sights
The Heine's are good, I have a set on a 19. +1 for sure.

I'm looking for some Warren's as my next set though. Got to try them out on a friend's gun and they were sweet!

Something about that "double hump" rear profile really drew my eye to the front sight ---

I have these as well and I Like them. While I realize all you need is the front in a defense situation I like having the rear also. I can see my pistol on the night stand much better in the dark...

I like the Ameriglo I-Dot sights with orange front sight for Glocks. They are not target sights. They are fast on target in both bright and low light. They are good enough for headshots at 25 yards with decent light.

Once in a while you can find deals on night sights online at Bud's Gun Shop.
