If your sling is cloth fabric with the 'squeeze buckle' then either -
1) the buckle is bad
or
probably ...
2) the buckle is installed in the wrong direction. Pulling on the strap should force the lever on the buckle into the down LOCKED position. If the buckle is the other way, then pulling the strap tries to lift the lever OPEN.
