I bought this rifle earlier in the week, just prior to Turkey day, so in preparation for range day today I disassembled the rifle Friday night (last night) to wipe the oil off of it and give it a once over. Everything seemed great, cleaned it, lubed it, but when re-assembling it, I could NOT get the receiver cover back on the rifle. The Galil is very similar to an AK (the receiver and internal action), so think of this process as the final step when closing the rear cover on an AK where the a cover would snap down into place and the release button would come through the hole in the back. Well, it didn't, the receiver cover would not fit back on the receiver like it should. So I brought the rifle back to where I bought it to either return it, or fix it, or send it back to the manufacturer.
Turns out, whoever installed the cover at the factory jammed it on without adjusting the rail. The rail is a two piece affair, the first piece is over the front hand guard, and the second part is on the receiver cover itself. If the rail is not adjusted properly, the receiver will not position itself to lock down like a normal AK, the rail on the receiver does not lock into the forward rail properly. Took about an hour, for the gunsmith to make it right.
The rifle uses pmags (GEN M3's), it comes with 1 20 round, but I picked up a few 10 round mags!
Here it is at the range:

Because of the delays, I only had time to zero the rifle at 25yards before I lost the light, this is 10 rounds of my 168gr boat tails...so looks promising! I started walking the bullets to the right when I started shooting more rapidly!

The rifle shoulders nicely, the cheek rest that comes with the rifle is great if you have the scope/red dot, but it isn't adjustable up or down, so you can't use it with the iron sights (or at least I couldn't). Recoil is negligible and over all very pleasant to shoot! Looking forward to stretching this out to 100yds to see what it can really do!

POLACK -> Well, liking it so far, at short range....this is the first one of these I've ever owned...was a bit dubious because of the price, but the gun salesman is a marine combat vet and up to date on the newer weapon systems (i got out of the corps in '86). It's dangerous when I go to this particular gun shop, because this guy knows what I like! While I was there I also picked up a Benelli M4, so will need to try that out as well! He was trying to talk me into a DDI AK, but I got out of that.....but into the M4....would have been cheaper to get the AK!

The weather here has been lousy and work has kept me from the range, but I don't think you can go wrong with it, I haven't shot enough "other" types of rifles in this caliber with this "short barrel" configuration other than my M1A SOCOM for comparison. The SOCOM is actually pretty accurate....but I am not happy with the VLTOR stock that is on it, and I haven't done anything to it to "improve" on it.
I LOVE the ARchangel stock on my 22" M1A so might consider trying one of these stocks on the SOCOM...
So far, I'd recommend the Galil, but I won't really know till I can stretch this rifle out to at least 100yds! I'm off the week of Christmas, so hopefully I can do that then! Weather permitting!

I took the rifle to a private range, and with the Acog me and both of my buddies got 1" groups at 100yds.....we all were surprised at the accuracy and I'm thinking of putting a 3x9 scope on it to see how much I can shrink the groups! It took about 5 rounds to get used to the trigger before attaining the 1" groups though, it is a long pull! But the gun is essentially still new. I'm hoping to stretch it out to 200yds and see how it performs.
The Acog sight is very clear and bright! Very happy with it.

If I put the SOCOM into that bullpup stock (which I like) will it become an SBR like the Juggernaut? I see the OAL is 26.5", I need to read up on that! :)
