Fulton black hawk down rifle

Seems pretty cool to me. I’m not really into the whole replicating someone else’s build kind of thing, but plenty have tried/wanted to make similar builds, so perhaps this is of interest.

Yeah would be a slick rifle though. I like it brother.

Looks incredibly overpriced for me. What specifically makes it more identical than other rifles?

it looks like another marketing ploy to rip off an unsuspecting buyer with 4K to burn for a 2K at most rifle

I find it interesting that they are guaranteeing 1.5 moa (with FGMM) using a standard weight barrel and a 60 year old unbedded fiberglass stock.

Yup….4K for a pretty much a standard with a scope mount

Glad I built my own. Probably close to that amount in it, but with an optic, RAS rail, light, and PEQ 2A included.

Pricing seems a little steep.

Do you have any Fulton rifles? Is a Lexus better than a Ford? Don't knock it if you haven't tried it. :ROFLMAO:

My Fulton AR15 shoots < 1 MOA

Fulton Armory advertised it as “more than a clone.” It’s also priced at 4K after taxes and shipping. So with that…the expectations will be high.

Im pretty sure Randy Stughart’s rifle had:

GI Bolt
GI Barrel
A scope mount other than theirs
His stock wasn’t black but was painted
It’s missing the Faux selector switch

If you are going to advertise it’s more than a clone with a matching price tag then it is expected to be exactly the same rifle other than a receiver. It’s nothing more than a gimmick.

I have a rifle built with a FA receiver and it’s nice and I didn’t say their rifles were trash. I just said this was a gimmick which it is as I discussed

LD06490 hit it right on the head, this seems to be a marketing ploy and a not very good one at that. Fulton’s marketing team could at least get the facts straight and not spread misinformation.

SFC. Shughart was part of Operation Gothic Serpent, not Operation Restore Hope. Restore Hope was 1992 under Bush. Gothic Serpent was in 1993 under Clinton. Humanitarian vs capture DA mission.

‘Shughart valiantly fought off enemy forces and saved the lives of several of his fellow soldiers’.

The only survivor was Durant. Super 64’s crew (Tommy Field, Bill Cleveland, Ray Frank. Mike Durant) survived the crash but were killed along with Gordon and Shughart in the following firefight. Again, Fulton’s team is writing some revisionist history here.

In honor of Randy Shughart's legacy, Fulton Armory has developed our own iteration of the famous Shughart M14. Crafted with high-quality parts and designed to replicate the look and feel of the original rifle. More than just a "clone" our tribute M14 Black Hawk DMR is exactly how we would assemble a Delta Force rifle used during an urban mission to protect a downed Black Hawk helicopter and its crew.’

So, I’m confused. Is it to replicate the look and feel of the original rifle or is it a tribute to how Fulton would assemble a delta force rifle for a mission to protect a down Black Hawk. Those are two totally different things. I don’t see anything that screams Black Hawk down when I look at that rifle. The rifle looks like an unfinished accurizing job, they didn’t even fit a bipod stud or a fake selector switch LOL.

Man, this reminds me of the stuff you’d see back in the 00’s debating that rifle.

I still appreciate anthonypd sharing this, its a cool idea just poorly executed. I could see a market for it if it was done properly.

Fair enough.
Their Quality Score = A+
Originality to Black Hawk Down rifle Score = F

Ya, for that amount of coin, I would have done a limited run of 20 rifles.

Brookfield or at worst ARMS 18 mounts, faux selector and connecting arm, and a killer paint job.

I use Fulton receivers but all USGI guts. I will put my rifles against any of them 4K rifles. Def. overpriced.
I prefer to have an homage not a clone

I read an article/advertisement on that new Fulton offering a couple days ago on the TFB blog. It's crazy these days what companies are charging for boutique battle rifles and it's even crazier that there's so many people willing to pay it. Shoot I built my 3 m14's for about the same price that Fulton is charging for that one and mine have all usgi parts. Granted it did take a lot of work putting the receivers back in working order and refinishing them by hand and a long time sourcing all the parts but it was well worth it

I like Fulton rifles, I don’t like overpriced money grabs!!! If some of the proceeds went to Randy’s family, veteran organizations, etc I wouldn’t bat an eye and might even try to purchase one. For the money you are getting a rifle painted black with an non accurate mount for LRB Match grade money.
Can’t say that I’ve heard bad things about fulton’s Brookfield mounts before. Can’t say I’ve heard good things either. Not sure if people are buying them.

I guess for me the insult is throwing Randy Shughart’s name into this to sell the rifle. That’s a huge name to throw around who brought honor to our country. The rifle isn’t close to the one he used. It really is their regular rifle…the only difference is that it uses a selfless hero’s name to advertise it.

For some reason this bothers me much more than it should.
