Be carefull with that stuff if ya put to much of it in yer rifle it might cause it to leep from your hand and lay in the dirt 8O 8O 8O . I saw an add for some French rifles once, something like never been fired only dropped once
Uhhhh....are you SURE it's 7.62x51? To my knowledge the French never used that caliber. They used the 7.5x54 which is also known as the 7.5 French. Similar in appearance, but it will most definitely cause a problem if you try to shoot it in an M1A.
The headstamp is definitely French. My reference sources tell me that SF and SFM are:
