Paid $50.00 for it. I am noticing all of a sudden that Contractor Wrapped magazines are showing up at the gunshows. They usually are OM from 1970 and Borg Warner from 62, 63 and 68. This lone item was sitting in with lots of other makes.

There appears to be no packing date. The wrapper was manufactured by Seal Bag in Rochester, NY in 9/61. My guess is this magazine was packed with others in a master pack and the master pack may have been dated. I believe this magazine was delivered during rifle production so it was probably not delivered as a spare part. A certain amount of magazines (number unknown) were required for each rifle delivered.

Purchased it Friday night at the Valley Forge Convention Center Gunshow.

Hey Bill,

I'll bet the guy that runs the Military Archives and Museum that airs on the History Channel would love to get his hands on some of your stuff!!!

What did you have to pay for that mag? Not an arm and a leg, huh? Maybe just an arm? I'll bet they go for a pretty penny.... I got 10 NIW mags stashed away, but I think I got lucky on the price, it only cost me $40 each.

I wonder what country is hoarding all of the mags or maybe forget that they had them from yesteryear! Oh, well...

Aloha and Thanks for sharing that pic with us...

Thanks Tom. Yes I have a really nice information base, but unfortunately there is tons of information I am still missing. The hunt continues.
That's a great find Bill! You never know when you will come up with these rare finds at the gun shows. Very cool! 8)
