Is it possible to mount a forward rail on a "Loaded"? I noticed that Amegaranges and Ultimak wont mount on a Medium-Heavy or Loaded. I did not realize the limitations of mounts on a Loaded or Med Barrel.

I think amega ranges came out with a scout rail for a med weight barrel

Straight from http://www.amegaranges.com/product_pages/m14_m1a.php:

"It will NOT fit Chinese made barrels or "Loaded" M1A's with their medium-heavy or heavy barrels. All Stainless barrels are "Heavy" barrels, and will not fit."

the new vltor is your best bet, some new loaded models come with the extended vltor rail

Thanks, I checked that out now. I sent them an e-mail since it looks like I'm on a fine line with them, will find out soon:

"The upper rail assembly fits on most M14/M1A platform, but with the exception of some “Heavy Barrel” systems; such as National Match models"
