Any suggestion will be greatly appreciated.
I'm closing in on a rifle purchase(first time) on another board.
I'm a trusting soul but cautious.I'm doing what I know to do to get a feel for the seller.
How can one lessen the risk in regards to the money transaction?

The first thought that jumps into my head is... If you feel "shakey" dealing with this person, PULL OUT NOW! Do not go ahead with this deal. You should at least feel somewhat confident that the person on the other side will come through. If you don't feel confident working with someone, even on-line, there must be a reason. :-k

Create a documented paper trail. Send everything with Delivery Confirmation with Signature, and with Tracking. Make sure payments and receipt of payments can be established. I use USPS Money Orders.

I absolutely agree about the documentation and the feel for the other person.USPS Money order,I'll do that for sure UPS overnight.

Go to www.usps.gov, they now have electronic money orders that do no release the funds until the item is delivered.
