Here's a few pics of my newly finished birch stock from Fred. Hope you like the pics. The cartouches came out rather well and I'm very pleased with the fast shipping from Freds. Nice stock and fast service.

Special thanks to JohnnyReb for his help on the refinish advice &
M1A_scout guy for the optic mount. It's an SA Bush model with a scout optic rail

Thanks,
Andy

Very nice rifle! Looks kinda dry there in Georgia. You need some rain?

I have to laugh though.....thinking what would happen here in Ca. where I live, if I took my rifle outside and put it on my fence to take a photo

I'd have the county sheriffs all over my a$$ in a few minutes! Oh well, that's the way it is here in the land of the liberals

Congrats on your nice piece!

Gotsta agree, nice looking rifle. Good job on refinishing that stock. M14 Lover, its not dry, just Winter - another thing I guess y'all don't have in California. ;)

I was thinking the exact same thing, but that action picture of Pea Wee Herman really made me laugh because I was trying to figure how it balances with a classic picture of an M14 on a rustic fence in a Georgia countryside and it just cracked me up   .

Beautiful rifle however !!! ;)
Awesome rifle!

Is that a springfield scout mount? Hard to install?
Andy,

Nice rifle! The stock turned out well, really nice cartouches too.
w30olds,

Great looking rifle.

The background scenes make me homesick for Southeast Texas, looks just like where I grew up. Everything here, Cache Valley, Utah, is covered in snow and colder'n a well diggers...uhh,...you know what I mean.

Thanks for the pics.

The stock had a few dings and scratches, but overall was in really good shape. It indeed came with all the metal and was $35 plus $9 to ship it. Came from Freds M14 stocks. Hope this helped.

Thanks again JohnnyReb for the phone help and support. I went with the Behr oil you told me about. I'm happy with the results.

The mount is indeed off a scout. It was not that hard to install really. Just had to make sure to get it level so the mount was straight. Took sometime, but I finally got it on nice and level. I like it alot. Thanks for the comments!!!! :D
Good lookin rifle indeed Congrats are in order!

Have fun with it and give us range reports
