Only embellishment I thought about on my LRB M14SA would be to see if Doug Turnbull Restorations could/would color case harden the various metal parts of the rifle. I have had some other rifles had the treatment and definitely adds a touch of class, but at no small price. Truth of the matter I would think it would really look go on the recently acquired M1 Garand Special Grade/308, kind of like adding "class on class." I will check with Turnbull folks and see if it is an option, just dreaming at this time. If you are not familiar with his work, check out Turnbull Restorations, definitely gun art.
Etching?
Has anyone ever thought about engraving for there M14 or M1a? I have yet to see anyone do it here but I thought about doing it. I saw a poster here made an aluminum hand guard here and my first thoughts where "hmm.... that would look awesome with some good engraving." I just wanted to know your guys thoughts and ideas of any engravings you might think would be nice or intresting to see.

Did check with Turnbull Restorations and it is a "no go" on the color case hardening due to fear of altering dimensions of the receiver, so just will have to leave my LRB as is. As the old saying goes, "if it's not broken, don't fix it..."
