Is there a site I can check out those Super Snipers? I couldn't find them on swfa.com but maybe I just missed them.

I paid less than that for mine but that was a few years ago. For the money SS are a great deal but not perfect. I have 2 and the turrets have a lot of slop, set dope but the turrets will move so it hard to know the exact moa on the scope. Set it, look back and it may not be where or seem like the moa you just set. Plus the turrets will not work once the temp gets to single digits are so. At 30 below I fear to try to adjust them as they may break, freeze up solid. The side focus too and even in the warmth it has some slop. There is a trick to replace the O ring and remove some of the sticky grease in the ELV turret but in mine did not make much of a difference.

I had to send my first one back due to complaints with the turrets, took some time (multiple contacts) convincing SWFA it had problems but they did say send it back, replaced with a brand new SS.

Read the reviews if you wish but in my opinion it is not a $800 scope like some of the reviews state. But, it is really a good deal for the price and if I needed a good low/mid level scope I would get another but I do know what I am getting now that I have them.

I've never used a SS but I have used a couple of Vortex scopes (other owned them and they let me use their rifles) and they are pretty impressive. This one looks pretty nice but the price is up around $1K. Notice you can get first focal or second focal plane reticles and either MOA or MIL reticles and knobs. You can also order custom knobs that are calibrated for your cartridge.

From what I've been told this is seems to be the lowest model that would work well in the field, there are cheaper models but I've been told that they don't seem to perform as well as this one and the more expensive models.

If you want a real number for elevation adjustments, talk to your local high power shooters who go out to 1000 yards with a M14 type. Ask them what their come-ups are. That might not match your particular gun but it ought to be close.

BTW, By my understanding, a 168 HPBT out of a 22 inch barrel M14 type won't make it out to 1000 yards. The bullets go transonic just a bit past 900 yards.
