If more people had weapons and training there might have been more resistance. The nazis quickly invaded huge swaths of vast acreages. No way they were in control of the country side unless there were pro-nazi groups already there to help police the population. Guerilla warfare was centainly possible, but at a high cost when captured.
Unfortunately they were able to recruit some groups. Lots of Ukrainians worked for the nazis and as did others. Often these were people that badly suffered under stalin's collectivization program caused a lot of suffering, especially in Ukraine. Certainly does not justify working in nazi death camps.

I'm not surprised that nobody has commented on how, for an experienced resistance fighter, she obviously doesn't know how to hold a firearm correctly...or was that just a publicity/propaganda picture. I'm sure it doesn't matter, the intention was good.

It was a posed picture. Here are other posed pictures. Often the soviets held or supported the gun by the magazine.

Faye fled to the forests and joined the Molotava Brigade, a partisan group made mostly of escaped Soviet Red Army POWs.
She was accepted because her brother-in-law had been a doctor and they were desperate for anyone who knew anything about medicine. Faye served the group as a nurse from September 1942 to July 1944, even though she had no previous medical experience. The camp's doctor was a veterinarian.' Faye Schulman

Not at all the same thing. Poland was invaded by their hereditary enemies: the Germans and the Russians. The germans killed about 6 million is the estimate there" 3 million slavs and 3 million jews. There are no concentration camps going [edit] on here. A lot of people are quite happy enough with the current regime and many are becoming disillusioned as the economy falters. No one knows what the future will bring.

I don't know the exact quote from Martin Niemoller from WW2 around the Nazis, but it was something like this: "First they came for the Socialists, and I did not speak out, because I wasn't a Socialist"
"Then they came for the Trade Unionists, and I did not speak out, because I wasn't a Trade Unionist"
"Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak, out because I wasn't a Jew"
"Then they came for the Catholics, and I did not speak up, because I was a protestant"
"Then they came for me, and there was no one to speak for me"
Kind of ironic the elected officials are hired by us to speak for us but they speak for themselves. No matter how much things change they seem to stay the same. History repeats.
