Don't see a "pistol grip" as describe on the tag?
On further reflection...
Probably Gun Hippy wrote the descriptions for them.
That sounds like some of his bloviating to sound extra-intellectual and extra-expert.

Or could be their ignorant way of saying "We done di' sum cogitatin' an' we heah at Reddin' belief dis heah ain't California legal, now chil' !"

Often, the wood stocks were referred to as being a straight stock, scant stock, or pistol grip. All it means is the grip is fashioned as a sort of pistol grip. But not in the sense of what we refer to today when speaking of a pistol grip, such as an AR, or AK.
If I recall correctly, it started with the early '03 Springfields.
