Posting this to motivate any of you that go through this. April 2, 2019 I was two steps out of bed and thought something wasn’t right. Bottom of left eye vision seemed strange. Disregarded it. Mowed three acres that afternoon and knew I was screwed. Ended up being 3 days later before I was in surgery. Two vertical tears and complete detach of retina. Three months sitting in a chair, couple more months barely doing anything. Cataract forms from the surgery, by December I get that surgery. Extreme focus problems in both eyes and glare sensitivity all along.
By this Feb. they give me new glasses and I can see 20/30. Glare sensitivity not bad and focus issues gone. However, eyes tire easily then vision gets dull. 30-40 rounds through iron sights is max now. Point is it gets better but takes time. Any of you old dogs who were Marine or Army grunts are susceptible as well as those who have had RK or LASIK eye surgery. Your doc won’t admit to that but it’s true. If you notice anything weird get to your eye doc ASAP, they will work you in. The sooner you get surgery the better your results. You would not believe the number of people having this problem, 30 years ago it was a rarity. Pic is two days after surgery, you don’t want that!
