I've heard comments on cutting powder. Seems this is not good. Why? If your powder weighs what you want why does it matter if your dispenser cut a couple of granules in the throw?

Thanks

i personally believe cutting a few pieces of powder is not a big issue, but here's the scoop. the reason cutting powder makes a difference is that the coatings that determine the burn rate of the powder are on the outside of the powder, therefore cutting of it exposes powder without the coating, altering burn rate. if you cut all your powder into two pieces, you have made a different powder. since we are talking about powder measures cutting the powder, this applies primarily to stick powders.

Well said. I got about a 30min explanation on that subject to understand it. And you just said it in a paragraph. I think i got more out of the paragraph also.
