Anyone have any idea as to how well the collapsible containers hold up under storage compared to a rigid container?

Collapsible just aren't for long term. They are just too flimsy & takes very little to accidently puncture one.

Never tried the collapsable ones. Bought 5 five gallone water containers a few years ago, filled them up, put a table spoon of bleach in each one and put them under the house. Two years later I was up under there and started to move them out to refill them with fresher water.

Four of the five had busted in the reinforcing creases (they looked like plastic copies of 5 gallon metal gas cans used on the old Jeeps, etc.) and leaked the water out. I could see them leaking if they flexed a lot but just sitting under the house (nothing freezes under my house - hope I'm not jinxing the pipes this winter GI8) there shouldn't have been any movement to cause flexing.

Never bought anymore of those.
